Palazzo Gulinelli is located on Corso d’Este I, in the heart of Ferrara’s Addizione Erculea—the city’s renowned Renaissance-era urban expansion. The building reflects the rich history of Ferrara, featuring frescoed ceilings, grand staircases, spacious and light-filled rooms, and a 2,100-square-metre private garden.

Recently restored, Palazzo Gulinelli has earned GOLD certification under the GBC Historic Building® protocol, recognizing its sustainable and environmentally responsible renovation of a historic structure.

On the top floor, you’ll find our Smiling Loft Apartments—a modern residential space reserved for university students coming from outside Ferrara.

Our Early Years and the first three years of Primary School are housed at our Corso Porta Mare Campus. This beautifully renovated former monastery has been transformed into a warm, vibrant, and cheerful learning environment, complete with two spacious gardens—one of which offers a stunning view of Ferrara’s historic city walls.

Both locations of Smiling International School feature large gardens, a kitchen with canteen, a gym and computer labs.
